I'll see your Tesla Coil and add one Earthquake machine... that probably never actually worked.

No. The man was about as low-down and dirty as you can get without being a politician. He ruined Tesla, and never actually invented a damned thing. Yes, that includes the incandescent light bulb he's widely credited for. He didn't create it, he just improved upon it and, more importantly, patented it. Edison was a CEO, not an inventor.

Tesla was a genius. Even today, we still don't understand how he did a lot of the amazing things he accomplished. He created/discovered AC (alternating current) power, which is vastly superior to the DC (direct current) power Edison tried to force on everyone.

EDIT: Wrong type of light bulb....

As an engineer and a man of science, I am devastated we never saw his supposed Unified Field Theory.

Oh the possibilities...

I love Garth's post hahaha.

Tesla is without a doubt my favorite inventor. He is extremely underated and barely known by many people despite being amazing.
Most people i know in the U.S. seem to think Edison invented everything and is a national hero.
It is unfortunate so very few find out for themselves that Edison was a scumbag. He went out of his way to ruin other inventors he viewed as competition. He would have children collect animals just to electrocute them with AC power ( the power format Tesla supported) in order to make Tesla's choice look dangerous.
In multiple cases there were inventors soon to be patenting their technology, but somehow they dissapeared completely.... Of course who was it that claimed the patent a bit later? ...Edison

... Of course Tesla did not help his case much by building tesla coils and shooting bolts back and forth overtop peoples heads... Which really only freaked them the hell out and increased their belief of him being a mad man.

To anyone reading this, you should actually take a moment out of your day to look into what Tesla did. He gave up the majority of his life to further technology for everyone, the least you can do is give up an hour or so.

Tesla did suffer from some level of mental illness, though frankly I think that's part of the burden of some forms of genius.

He'd have loved the modern era of particle accelerators, I like to think.

Without Tesla, we would not have the first generation of power armor for Elementals to exist.

Yeah and you better be rich and idle because 40k sucks money and time harder than a blackhole. In a good way that is :D
The background is easily on par with Battletech and shares the same noble heritage.

Actually it did. Tesla figured out resonate frequencies and almost leveled a block in New York City with a device that became stuck in the "on" position. He had to smash it to shut it off.
